Chesterton flange live loading is part of a sealing system, can solves leakage often seen when bolted, gasketed joints are subject to mechanical shock, pressure surges, and/or thermal expansion and contraction. The live loading’s flange disc (spring washer) is an elastic mechanical element that compensates for these conditions by maintaining bolt force. The end result: extended reliability and equipment life.
